Main Street Lofts is a Historic Adaptive Reuse project located in downtown Stamford, CT. Originally built in 1925 as the Valeur Building, this 8-story office building had fallen into disrepair. After years of neglect, GRE along with our partners Jeff Mendell, Jason Mendell, and Eric Edelman purchased the building and began a gut-renovation. The exterior is being carefully restored with new windows and repointed brick, while the interior spaces are being transformed into 41 premium apartments. The project also includes a restored tenant lobby and 3,500 S.F. of prime ground-floor retail space. In total, Main Street Lofts will comprise 30,000 S.F. of mixed-use space and reflects a careful blend of preservation and modern living. The development utilizes Historic Tax Credits in partnership with CT SHPO and is expected to be completed in Summer of 2026.
